Yesterday at Connect Christian Church, Brian Morrissey shared the vision for our brand new model for building authentic community.
In case you missed it, here’s a look at what’s coming:
The “shared life” through Connect Groups
In February of 2015, we will transition our current groups system from semester-based offerings around a single topic to regular gatherings of families who meet year-around and share life together. New families who come to our church will be able to easily jump into one of our Connect Groups. Then, once a group reaches a certain size, it will divide and allow for continued growth. Imagine being in a group where families look out for another, hold each other accountable, and even serve our community together.
Classes will continue
Certain semester-based classes such as Ground Floor, Financial Peace University, and others will still be offered periodically. As we transition toward a life-groups model, we aren’t completely doing away with class-style learning. We believe strongly that certain classes will continue to be extremely beneficial at Connect.
Hangouts are essential
Also, we will continue to plan quarterly Hangouts in which the entire church is invited to events such as a picnic, kickball game or a bonfire. This will give us all more opportunities to get to know others as we celebrate all God is doing in our lives and in our church.
We are so excited to launch this new model with all of you, and we can’t wait to see what God is going to do in and through our church family.
