Easter can mean a lot of different things. It marks the beginning of spring. It’s filled with family gatherings, Easter egg hunts, and the
best candy that’s available all year long. I know Halloween gets all the press when it comes to candy, but in my opinion, it can’t hold a candle to Easter. I’m 37 years old, and I still get a chocolate bunny every year. And I’m good with that.
One more thing that Easter often means. It means that people who generally don’t come to church at least give it some thought. They are more open to an invitation than at other times of the year. And that means that our church has an incredible opportunity in front of us.
Last Sunday, we handed out Easter invitations. If you weren’t there or if you need another one, we’ll have plenty more available this Sunday.
These invitations are a simple way for us to invite friends and family to come to church with us on Easter Sunday. It’s not always easy, but we’re challenging all our partners to step out of their comfort zones and invite someone to come with them on Easter.
We’ll be opening up an extra ballroom at the hotel, so we’ll have plenty of room for everyone. Let’s pack that place!
When you invite someone to Connect Christian Church, you can always be confident that they will get our very best. That’s true every Sunday, so it’s automatically true for Easter Sunday. The worship set will be awesome. Our band will be ON, just like they always are. And as always, our church will be at the ready to welcome folks who are understandably apprehensive about visiting a new church.
I’ll be kicking off a new series called Wounds. We all have wounds that we carry with us. Sometimes the pain is searing. Sometimes the pain dulls over time, but often it never fully goes away. In this series, we’re going to see how we can be healed of our wounds because Jesus was wounded for us!
Easter is going to be an awesome day at Connect Christian Church! Can’t wait to celebrate with you and your friends!
