As we announced on Sunday, Connect will soon be putting its Amelia building up for sale. It was a big move of faith for our church to change our name and move out of our building to a portable location. And we’re seeing God’s blessing all around us.
We have now come to the next step in the process. Our elders have determined that it is time to put our Amelia building on the market. While the building has been paid off for years, it simply doesn’t make sense to continue to pay the overhead on the facility, which is a significant cost. More importantly, selling the building will better position our church to reach more people from our community with the love of Jesus. We’ll be sharing more details along the way as things progress, but for now, we wanted to share the news that we have met with a realtor named Jim Hood, and Jim is going to be listing our building.
This has been a matter of prayer for a while, but we’ve just reached the point where we believe this is the next step that God is calling us to take. There are still questions to be answered. Questions like, where will our student ministry meet? Currently, they meet at the Amelia building on Sunday nights.
We don’t have a specific answer yet, but we can tell you this. There is absolutely no way that we’re going to leave that ministry homeless. We LOVE what God is doing in Connect Students through some amazing volunteers, and we are absolutely committed to seeing that continue. We will make sure that ministry is fully resourced, including securing a new location when the Amelia building sells.
There are other questions that we are working to answer. But we know that God will provide the answers if we take this next move in faith.
